The demo reel / Lumen breakdown
The product is the light, so silence is enough.
This is a full breakdown of one ten-second ad: the brief, the caption, the stack, and the finished video. LUMEN is a fictional sunrise alarm lamp we invented, and this is a self-initiated spec ad, not client work. Most feeds autoplay muted, so we built an ad that makes sense with no sound at all.
The finished ad. 10 seconds, 9:16. No dialogue — the audio is music and room tone, and the ad is built to read with the sound off. Every frame AI-generated. The “portfolio demo” watermark is ours — client deliveries ship clean.

The caption line
“6am doesn't hurt anymore.”
Nobody says this. Nobody speaks in this ad at all, and the line never appears on screen. It is the caption the post would carry, written to be read beside a clip that works without it.
It names the early alarm the product exists to soften, in the words a heavy sleeper would use about their own morning. Paired with the lamp brightening behind it, the caption turns a silent clip into one understood idea: waking without the jolt.
Why this format. A sunrise lamp is light, and a mood piece lets the light itself carry the shot. With no speaker and no on-screen text, the brightening lamp is both the demo and the scene's lighting change, so the ad reads with the sound off.
How it was built
- 01
Hero still
One image, generated with Nano Banana Pro at 9:16. Framed like a phone photo rather than a product shot: the product sitting where it would actually sit in the room, the brand name legible on it, and the light in the frame coming from the product itself.
- 02
Motion and sound
That still becomes frame one. Seedance 2.0 takes it to ten seconds of 720p video and generates the audio in the same pass. Nobody speaks in this one, so the prompt carries movement and light instead of a line: the lamp rises, the sleeper turns, and the sound is music and room tone.
- 03
Check before keep
Nothing survives because it looked fine as a thumbnail. We read the stream data with ffprobe and build a contact sheet of frames with ffmpeg. With no dialogue to check a transcript against, the test is the picture itself: the light has to climb across the whole ten seconds and the sleeper has to move with it. Takes that drift from the brief get regenerated, not patched.
- 04
Finish
The approved take is cut and packaged with ffmpeg for wherever it will run. Vertical for Reels and TikTok here; the same take can be reframed for feed or landscape if the brief asks.
What to watch for
The brightening lamp
The dome lamp on the wooden nightstand glows warm and brightens steadily, doing double duty as the product and the shot's own light.
The cold-to-warm shift
The window holds deep blue pre-dawn light with bare branches outside, so the lamp's warm glow reads as dawn against the cold room.
The wake arc
The sleeper stirs, stretches both arms up, then sits and turns toward the lamp, a full wake-up that lands without a single word spoken.
What this page is not
Every frame here is AI-generated, and LUMEN is a brand we invented for this demo. We claim no view or sales numbers, because this ad was never run as paid media. With a real product we'd shoot around the actual lamp and a real bedside at dawn.
We have no published reviews yet, so we are not going to borrow credibility we haven't earned. No client names, no engagement numbers, no invented case studies. What we can show you is the work and the method, in full, and let you judge whether it clears your bar.
