Honest Comparison

AI UGC or a human creator, honestly compared

This page compares the real cost of hiring a human UGC creator against commissioning AI UGC ads from us. We sell the AI side, so we will say that plainly up front. Then we will give you the honest version, including the places where a human creator is the better buy for you.

We sell one of these two things. So we have written down exactly where the other one wins.

The short answer

Use a human creator when your ad needs a real person's lived experience, a face your audience already trusts, or a physical product shown in someone's actual hands. Use AI when you are testing many hooks fast, iterating on script the same day, and need full usage rights that never expire. For an authentic testimonial, hire a human.

Line by line

Below is a line-by-line look at what each route actually costs. Our side is our own published pack price. The creator side is a range drawn from publicly posted creator rates, so treat it as a guide. Your own quotes will land somewhere different.

Base fee, per videoThe fee for the finished video itself. Buyers forget the posted creator rate is just the entry price, not the full cost.
Hiring a creator

Roughly $150–$500 for a mid-market creator; published guides put the average single video near $200. Beginners go lower, established creators go past $500.

Deep Mist AI

$95 for a single ad. Inside a pack it falls to $88.33 per ad (3-pack) or $74.50 per ad (10-pack).

Product sampleThe sample you ship to a creator, spent whether the video works or not. We skip it and work from your photos.
Hiring a creator

Your own cost of goods plus shipping, for every creator you brief. Spent whether or not the video is any good, and gone either way.

Deep Mist AI

Nothing shipped anywhere. We work from the product photos you already have.

Extended usage rightsBuyers price the video and forget the license. This line is what decides how long a winning ad is allowed to keep running.
Hiring a creator

Commonly +30–50% of the base fee, and time-limited. When the license lapses, a working ad has to come down or be re-licensed.

Deep Mist AI

Included, and they do not expire. No one’s likeness is licensed, so there is nothing to renew.

Whitelisting — running ads from the creator’s own handle
Hiring a creator

Commonly +30–100% of the base fee per month. You are renting real audience trust, and it is priced like it.

Deep Mist AI

We cannot do this at all. There is no real handle behind the presenter. If whitelisting is the point, hire a creator.

RevisionsChanges after delivery. Creators limit revision rounds, and a reshoot means shipping and scheduling again. Our pack includes rounds by default.
Hiring a creator

Light edits are usually fine. A genuinely different take means re-briefing, re-shooting, and often shipping another sample.

Deep Mist AI

1 round to 3 rounds included depending on the pack. A different take is a re-render, not a reshoot.

TurnaroundTurnaround runs on a creator's shoot calendar. Ours runs on machine time, where the bottleneck is rendering a file, not booking anyone.
Hiring a creator

Runs on a person’s calendar: sourcing, shipping, filming, then edits. Rush fees of +25–50% are common when you need it sooner.

Deep Mist AI

48 hours for one ad, 72 hours for three, 5 days for ten. Machine time, not a shoot day. No rush tier, because there is nothing to rush.

What you actually get
Hiring a creator

A real person who has genuinely held your product. That is the thing being bought, and it is not a small thing.

Deep Mist AI

A synthetic presenter, disclosed as AI wherever the ad runs. Excellent for testing what a hook does. Not a testimonial, and we never present it as one.

Creator-side ranges are from publicly posted 2026 rate guides, checked 23 July 2026: Influee, UGC Rates 2026  ·  PPC.io, UGC Creator Pricing 2026. They are market ranges, not private invoices — your own quotes will differ. Our figures are the prices published on our own pricing page.

A worked example: testing three hooks

Picture a brand about to scale a product and wanting to test several hooks first. Testing angles before spending on the winner is how competent paid social actually runs. The routes price that job very differently, because extra hooks cost a creator another shoot and cost us another render.

Route A — brief a creator

  • Three videos at the published average~$600
  • Extended usage rights, +30–50%+$180–$300
  • Product sample and shippingyour COGS, non-recoverable
  • Whitelisting, if you want it, per month+$180–$600
Before samples & whitelisting$780–$900

Route B — our Ad Pack

  • Ad Pack, three ads, one concept × three hooks$265
  • Usage rightsincluded, no expiry
  • Product sample and shippingnone
  • 2 rounds of revisionsincluded
Flat, all in$265

What that gap is actually buying. Route A returns three videos made by a real person who held your product. Route B returns three synthetic ones. If what you are testing is the hook — which opening line stops the scroll — both routes answer the question, and one costs a fraction. If what you are selling is the person, only Route A was ever going to work.

When to hire a human creator

Real testimony

When the ad needs a genuine personal story only a real user can tell, a human who actually lives with your product carries weight a synthetic presenter cannot.

The physical product

Showing real texture, fit, taste or assembly needs an actual body and hands. Fabric on skin, food being eaten, a tool being built. AI still fakes these poorly.

Their own audience

When you want the video posted from a creator's own handle to followers who already trust them, only a real account with a real following can do that.

Trust-sensitive categories

In categories where buyers punish anything that smells synthetic (wellness, finance, baby care, medical), a real human face lowers the risk the ad is dismissed as fake.

When AI production is the better buy

Hook testing at volume

When you need many variations to find the winning hook, AI makes each extra variation a cheap render rather than another shoot, fee and shipping round.

No sample logistics

You never ship a product, wait on a creator's calendar, or risk a wasted sample. We work from the photos you already have, so nothing physical moves.

Rights that never expire

Because no real person's likeness is licensed, full usage rights come with the pack and do not expire. You can run the ad for as long as it works.

Hard-to-source markets

When you need a presenter for a language or market where you cannot easily find and vet a local creator, AI lets you produce there without the sourcing work.

Disclosure, both ways

Every ad we deliver is disclosed as AI wherever it runs, and you should do the same. TikTok requires an AI disclosure tag on ads using synthetic faces or voices, and Meta requires a label on paid content showing AI-generated people. Clear disclosure reads as confidence, not weakness.

To be fully clear: we sell the AI side of this comparison, and every frame we deliver is AI-generated. We have no client results to quote, because we are new. The creator-side figures come from publicly posted rate data, not private invoices. Get your own quotes before you decide.

We have no published reviews and no client results to quote. We are not going to borrow credibility we haven’t earned, so there are no invented case studies, engagement numbers or logos anywhere on this site.

Judge the work instead

We have no client reviews yet, and we will not invent them. Instead, the links below open full breakdowns of how each ad was made, so you can judge the craft directly.
